REMIT YOUR MEMBERSHIP TO:
Washington State PTA
IF YOUR LOCAL UNIT HAD REVENUE OF LESS THAN $50,000, WE HAVE GOOD NEWS FOR YOU

Both the Washington Secretary of State’s office and the federal Internal Revenue Service have taken steps to make life easier for PTAs and other nonprofits that receive less than $50,000 in a fiscal year.

PTAs that receive less than $50,000 during the fiscal year will no longer be required to register with
the Washington State Secretary of State’s Charities Program.  Those PTAs that have already registered
should file the optional statement, which can be filed online for free!!

Prior to these changes, the threshold amount for both categories was $25,000.  PTAs with incomes above $50,000 will continue to file either a 990EZ or a full 990 with the IRS, and file an annual renewal with the Washington Charities Program.
