Many local PTA units create and sponsor their own volunteer recognition, in addition to taking advantage of individual awards available at the local unit. Washington State PTA Individual Awards which can be given by PTAs at the local unit level include:

Honorary Life Membership
The purpose of the Honorary Life Membership is to recognize an individual who has contributed significantly
to a PTA at the local unit, council, or state level. This award can be given by a PTA unit, council, or region.
Leadership Academy
What ever differences we make in the lives of children are because of volunteers who are committed
to being a voice for every child. In gratitude for many hours of service and training, the WSPTA Board of Directors created the Leadership Academy Awards Program. The purpose of this program is to recognize and acknowledge leadership skills attained by PTA leaders throughout all levels of the association.
